We want everyone to be able to experience St. Marys, barrier free!

Many shops and restaurants are located in historic limestone buildings that date back to the mid-19^th century. We want to ensure everyone can experience all that our town has to offer, this unique and picturesque architecture is no exception.

In 2017 St. Marys embarked on a mission to remove existing barriers and make our town fully accessible. This included altering storefronts, sidewalks, public washrooms, picnic tables and other town amenities. You will also find fully accessible pedestrian signals at our downtown intersections. This project created 47 additional accessible storefronts.

Accessible Transportation

The St. Marys VIA Station offers accessible transportation services upon departure and arrival. Both the entrance to the station and the platform are wheelchair accessible. The assistance of a wheelchair lift and a courtesy wheelchair are also available for use.

The Perth County Connect bus is fully accessible, and includes a high ramp access for multiple wheelchairs.
